Thank you for not getting too “theological”, but rather giving your readers the plain, simple,truths we all need to know and remember!
“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” (1 Corinthians 13:13)
The word translated “charity: is the Greek word “agape”, the highest kind of love. And God’s agape love is the purest, strongest love of all. That entire chapter is known as “the love chapter”.
I started reading in Revelation last night. It’s startling that the first church King Jesus had a message for, the Ephesian Church, had along list of very important works, but the message King Jesus had for them was, “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick [church] out of his place, except thou repent.”
If God did not love us, all that would be left would be a bunch of rules. Who needs that? But God not only tells us He loves us, He proved it beyond all shadow of doubt by askgin His Son Jesus to take on the mission of rescuing us at the cost of a great deal of painful suffering and a horrible death. We know we can trust God.
Other people need to know that too, so we are supposed to be examples of love, even to those who don’t deserve it or don’t seem to need it. We who are born-again believers in Jesus are now His representatives on earth.

Mr. Mosckerr, let’s take a look at the Scripture you are partially quoting. It occurs in two places:
Exodus 20:4-5:
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me…”
Deuteronomy 5:8-9:
“Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,”
The problerm was not “graven images”, which could be artwork. THe problem was making idols to worship. The FACT that God does not condemn “making images” is seen in these Scriptures:
Exodus 26:1:
“Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them.
Exodus 35:30-35:
“And Moses said unto the children of Israel, See, the Lord hath called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; and he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship; and to devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in the cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of wood, to make any manner of cunning work. And he hath put in his heart that he may teach, both he, and Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any work, and of those that devise cunning work.
Mr. Mosckerr, your lack of knowledge is not nearly as displeasing to God as your blunt attack, your insult to one of God’s most faithful servants, who in her love for God and King Jesus has exerted herself for years to lift up His holy name before the world. Instead of becoming bitter and resentful of the massive burden she is under, she has chosen to create beauty and share the way of salvation plainly, even though it costs her dearly to do so.
You often post here many longwinded comments which are apparently religious, but most of which is beyond understanding. Most of the time I have no idea what you are trying to say or WHY. Yet no one has attacked you.

It was time for Chuck to go. 86 years old. I don’t know anything about his spiritual life, but he was always a good guy in his movies. I really liked the character he presented. He may have been the best succesor to the Lone Ranger as far as morals and clean entertainment.!!

A couple weeks ago I was speaking to a stranger about the Bible. I knew instantly that she was a Christian when her face lit up with a smile and she said, “Yes! The Bible really is alive, sin’t it?”
I love God’s written Word. It is the most specific, detailed instruction, counseling, encouragement, and consolation we have in this life, except for those moments when the Holy Spirit speaks specifically to us about something.
God the Father loved us so much that He asked His Son to undertake our rescue – to live a sinless life of self-denial and endure, suffer, the insults, harassment, and enmity of evil men, to e savagely beaten, and finally to endure the horrible death of the cross. When we get to Heaven, we will be in the presence of the One Who loved us that much. Parents especially know that it was much harder for God the Father to ask His Son to do thiis than to do it Himself. God’s love is the greatest, most pure love in the entire Universe. Thank You, Heavenly Father, for loving us even while we were still in our sins!
King Jesus took on and accomplished the mission.We know that He completed the mission successfully because the Father raised Him from the dead three days later, exactly as predicted. Up to the last second, Jesus could have called it off. But He loved His Father and us so much that He endured until that last moment when He cried out, “It is finished!” and surrendered His spirit. As He had said, “Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.” (John 10:17-18)
After His death and resurrection, King Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to live inside every genuine beleiver in Himelf:
“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.” (John 16:7) The gift of the Holy Spirit was the greatest gift, next to our Redemption itself, that we could receive because, as Jesus said,
“I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”
