  2. “Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

    I don’t think that Paul meant we should literally pray every minute of every waking hour of every day. But brother and sisters in Christ, we have just begun to do what the Holy Spirit wrote through Paul in 1 Thessalonians5:17. When Kristi was being battered by cold air through broken windows, we prayed. No immediate answer came. We continued to pray, and PRAISE GOD! the Lord answered our continuing prayers!

    What would have happened (or not happened) if we had not kept on praying? I don’t want to find out.

    Brothers and sisters, we are not finished praying for Kristi about this matter yet. Monday February 9th someone is supposed to replace the plastic over her windows with plywood, a much more reliable barrier agains cold, rain, and wind than the stopgap measure that kind helpful man (bless him, please, Heavenly Father!) put in place for her already. So we should “pray without ceasing” for the Lord to follow through on His assistance to Kristi until that plywood is in place.

    Then we should keep on praying until Krisit tells us the new glass windows have been installed.

    Then we should keep on praying for the rest of the wnter that Kristi will have no more problems like this all winter long!

    That’s what Paul / the Holy Spirit meant when he / He wrote about praying without ceasng. This is one way we can support our brothers and sisters in Christ even when we can’t help them in person. God can always reach them!

    And if our prayers ae not answered, we will keep onpraying anyway. To the end. Until we cross the finish line and stand overcome with joy in safety and peace in God’s Kingdom. Because this is one of the tasks born-again Christians can do in partnership with the Creator of the Universe. Any Christian can do this! God has given us a job that we can all handle which is has eternal results!
