“Israel shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.” (Isaiah 45:17)
Someone pointed this out long ago: those who say God’s promises to the Jews are no longer in force had better think twice. God unilaterally instituted an everlasting covenant with Abraham and his descendants. If God should abrogate that covenant, how can Christians have any confidence in the promises made to them ion Jesus Christ? Either God is consistent, true to His word, or He can not be trusted. But He CAN ve trusted to keep His word!
God speaking to Abram:
“And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.” (Genesis 17:7)
“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19)
