The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray. It was easy to fall into formal observances with Judaism. Even ignoring the Pharisees’ million and one rules, there were ceremonies and rules for everything. But with Jesus, as we see ultimately after His death on the cross, “the veil of the Temple was torn in two from top to bottom”. This exposed the Holy of Holies, which only the priests had been allowed to enter, and then only after extensive rituals. This tearing of the Temple veil was God’s way of saying that the way to Him was now open to ever human being.
The approved ways being His written Word and prayer. BUt prayer was unusual, it appears. The disciples, sincere believeing Jews though they were, weren’t sure how to go about it. So they did the logical thing and asked Jesus to teach them how to pray. His instructions you have included above, Kristi, which is good! Because the time is coming when this nation will look for the Word of God and not be able to find it. But God will lead some of them here, and they will find Him because you posted this and so many other things about God.
There is a passage in one of the Lord of the Rings books where the Elven Queen sends a message to Gimle the Dwarf, “An honorable death is a treasure which no man is too poor to purchase.”
Christians have a parallel, and REAL, counterpart in prayer. By God’s infinite grace and love, we who are justified by faith in Christ have 24 / 7 / 365 access to the Throne Room of the Universe through prayer. Astonishing! Undeserved! Awesome privilege! We would be ungrateful and foolish if we didn’t take advantage of it.
One tiny example of the benefits of prayer – I’ve been engaging in something for a long time and had come to be unsure if it was a worthwhile pursuit. A coiuple of weeks ago, I began to pray to God about it, telling Him my doubts, and asking Him to let me know in a very specific way if I was right to continue. No answer came. A few days ago I prayed again, telling god that I beleived it was worhtwhile, so I would continue.
God’s confirmation letter came in the mail this afternoon. Excatly the confirmation I had asked for. “Ask and you shall receive.” 🙂 🙂 🙂
So let’s pray until the very moment we leave this earth!

Yesterday on 3/3/2022 at 1PM I went Shopping for food at Costco, they had NO ride a long basket Carts for me too use, So I used a Push A long Basket and held tight on the handle so I would not fall!!
After I put the things in my Push a long Basket I got in the Long Line Waiting too Check out, a man on his own Electric Cart in Front me he was riding on BACKED UP and Pushed my Shopping Cart backwards and made me Fall and I hit my head on the Flat bed cart behind me and knocked me out!! The Costco Staff Emergency Crew Got me too sit-up, I was Bleeding very Badly form the back of my head, The Costco Emergency Crew came and put bandages on my head too stop the Bleeding!! I was Taken by Ambulance too the Hospital where I was there for five hours. The Doctors Did a CAT-SCAN on my head, they the Put FIVE STAPLES too hold my skin together!! I was Released around 7:30 PM!! PRAY for me Please!!
My Next Door Neighbor Picked me up at the hospital and Drove me to Costco too pick up my CAR!! Costco Saved my Shopping cart, so I went in and got my food and drove my car home in Troutdale, Oregon!! My Next door Neighbor Followed me home and helped me put my food in my house!!

Abba, thank You that Kristi apparently incurred no very serious injury. Please comfort her, ease her pain, and take charge of this situation so that no complications follow. I ask these things humbly but fervently in Jesus’ holy name. Amen.
Kristi, you don’t strike me as the type to sue, but if there were any expenses not covered by your insurance, it might be worth your while – and save another trouble – if you politely, in person, approached the CostCo manager, with a witness present, and suggested to him or her that since they didn’t have enough electric carts, and that was the ultimate cause of your injury, CostCo might consider this and pay for your expenses. They’d almost certainly want you to sign a waiver if they agreed which would involve indemnity from all future charges involving future claims from the incident. Whether or not it’s worth the trouble is up to you. But alos you might suggest that they purchase a couple more electric carts to prevent future injuries to others.
