Prayer is both a verbalization of one’s thoughts and an attitude or state of mind… One can pray without ceasing if they are constantly in tune with the Spirit of God… Praying without ceasing is more a spiritual attitude, condition, than vocalized…

Kristi Ann, thank you for this reminder to pray. We need reminders and encouoragement. We’re so feedback-oriented that when we encounter no immediate audible or visual response, none of the visual cues of facial expressions, we feel like we’re talking to ourselves. We’ve been conditioned to instant response to our words in most cases – cell phones, facetime, skype, conference calls, etc.
Those who have been Christians for even a little while know that God always hears us. But even longtime Christians can become discouraged because of the lack of “response stimulation” by letting our prayer lives get slack.
But He does hear us. Always!
Continuing to pray without a visual or audible response is a test of and a proof of our faith. It honors God “in the Heavenlies”, in front of the holy angels and the fallen angels. It’s especially honoring to Him when we thank Him for the constant river of blessings He pours out on us, and especially when we acknowledge Him as our God even when we’re hurting or having a rough time. By doing this yourself, Kristi, publicly and with obvious love for God in spite of your hardships and rough times, you have earned the respect of the holy angels and a reward with God that you probably can’t imagine. And you have set an example for other believers.
Abba, we thank You with fervent hearts that You do hear our prayers. We apologize for not spending as much time as we should talking to You. You know it’s tough to focus on the unseen world when our bodies live in and are affected by this physical world we live in at the moment.
