I think the Rapture is very close, which makes this matter of extreme importance. Of course, none of us knows how much longer we’ll be on this earth regardless of the Rapture. But the imminent return of King Jesus should make us be very careful to be clear, unashamed witnesses of King jesus. I certainly don’t want Jesus to be ashamed of me when I see Him.
I think there’s another reason that this is of forst importance now. It sure seems to me that we are either in the first half of the Great Tribulation (when the world still continues to work somewhat and the Mark of the Beast isn’t yet a reality) or else we are close to the beginning of the Great Tribulation. I think that even Christians in Western nations are likely to begin to experience persecution, which could very likely quickly escalate to the level seen in Iran or China. We need to fortify our minds and spirit with God’s Word and with time spent in prayer. Daniel 11:32 says of the antiChrist, “And such as violate the covenant he shall pervert and seduce with flatteries, but the people who know their God shall prove themselves strong and shall stand firm and do exploits [for God].” (Amplified Classic Edition)
Brothers and sisters, get rady. A storm is coming and is already beginning to batter the remains of our civilization. Jesus is our strinig and mighty tower, and no one else.
I was talking earlier to a woman whose home was wrecked by Hurricane Ian while she and her son sat for four hours, unable to safely leave, no safe pllace to go to, winds over 100mph for hours on end, listening to their roof being lifted up and slammed back donw again. She knows what combat stress is. We may soon all be stressed beyond what we hav ever had to endure before. This lady said, “It just came to me in the storm, He’s with us, right now. I don’t think I could have gotten through it without knowing Jesus was with us.”
That is “combat faith”, brothers and sisters. Earned in the fire. When trouble comes looking for you, “barracks faith” won’t keep you strong. Prepare yourself and He will lead, guide, and strengthen you.
