  3. Good afternoon, Kristi and Friends. Kristi, this post started my motor revving and I have to shout! Thank you!

    “Sing ye Praises with understanding.” I like that. It’s tempting to say things like “We praise You for Who You are, God” instead of telling Him what it is we’re grateful for or appreciative of. To me, that’s like mashed potatoes without salt and butter. No flavor.

    Praises with understanding – what could that mean?

    If you’re an astrophysicist like Hugh Ross (Reasons to Believe dot org), that might mean telling people (or just telling God) what you see in the stars and cosmic events that tell us about God’s awesome power and past-our-understanding intelligence!

    If you’re a mother, you might tell people (or just tell God) how you prayed for understanding of your children and how to raise them, and how God specifically and with perfect wisdom answered those prayers.

    If you’re a farmer or gardener, you might tell people (or just tell God) how you sense the presence of God in the growth of plants and their inter-connection with other parts of the world.

    Our God is a bioscientist Who is so far beyond the brightest minds on earth that there’s no comparison. He created the DNA of every living thing on earth! And He created them so that even in the current fallen state of life here, they work together in magical harmony! We humans have messed up this planet badly, but even now, if you observe the natural world from macrocosm to microcosm, you will see things so amazing that they will take your breath away!

    The Most High is an artist with unparalled creativity! A friend of mine told me about a bird she saw in South America when she was there, which has one spot of color in its plumage – and you can’t see that spot unless the bird flies almost directly over you! She said she laughed with glee when she first saw that at what she considered God’s humor. She was still smiling about it forty years later when she told me about it.

    He’s a geologist, an astrophysicist, an engineer, a chemist … no mater what you do, no matter where you are, every day you see something of God’s awesomeness. Thank Him for it! Tell him how much you enjoy what He’s created that is involved in your life!

    “The heavens declare the glory of God! The skies proclaim His craftsmanship! Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge! They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.! (Psalm 19:1-4)

    You can understand why “the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy”!

    And that’s just one tiny part of God! No matter what you see on this earth, in the sky, in the ocean depths, His unequaled power and majesty and wisdom and love are shining!

    “Ye that fear the Lord, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.” (Psalm 22:23)

    “Praise the Lord, all nations! Praise Him, all you peoples! For His merciful kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the Lord endures forever!” (Psalm 117:1-2)

    “Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens! Praise Him in the heights!
    Praise Him, all His angels! Praise Him, all His armies! Praise Him, sun and moon!
    Praise Him, all you stars of light!” (Psalm 148:1-3)

    I could go on like this for hours. Your posts inspire me, Kristi. Shalom, sister.
