I wan Born with my Sternum Fused too my Back bone, my Birth Defect is called Pectus Excavatum. My Entire Rib cage was rebuilt and I have Stainless Steel wires that hold my rib cage together. In 1965 doctors operated on me and moved my heart and lungs and kidneys too their right places!! I have a Ruptured disk in my Neck at C5-C6, and a very bad Ruptured disk in my Lower back that is pressing on two sides of my spinal cord, with not enough room for the nerves too go through it, and its located at L4-L5!! Kristi, you include so many wonderful Scriptures in your posts that they are refreshing and encouraging and very helpful! Any pastor worth his Sinday donner could find enough sermon topics in just one of your posts to keep him supplied with topics for a couple of months! Thank you! I love reading God’s Word when I visit here!
“Be Thou My Vision” is a powerful hymn, and I love it!
“Hear me when I call, O GOD of my Righteousness” (Psalm 4:1; posted above by Kristi) One of the greatest blessings born-again believers in Jesus have is knowing that God always hears us when we call.
We don’t get a busy signal when we call Him. We don’t hear,”That number cannot be completed as dialed” or “We’re sorry that number has been disconnected or is no longer in service”. We know that the Creator of the Universe and our Savior always hears us when we call. THANK YOU, Heavenly Father, for that assurance!
If it seems like I’m stuck in a groove of phone metaphors, that’s because I work at night at a site that is almost 100% deserted during my shift. I don’t have an internet connectiion there. Last week I rushed out of my trailer without my cell phone! I had the company phone, so if I needed emergency services, I was covered. But of course none of my contacts are on the company phone. I thought, “No big deal. I’ll use my back-up phone.” But the battery had run down to nothing.
Suddenly I felt very much alone. Most of us are used to having some kind of electronic connection to friends and family. When you lose that, it’s a very lonely feeling.
But after a minute or two of mentally grappling with that “dire situation”, I said, “Okay, Lord. No problem! I know You’re not only listening to me, but in the person of the Holy Spirit You’re right here with me!” That took away the loneliness, LOL!
Psalm 4:2 uses the word “leasing”. I wondered if God was unhappy with realtors, until I looked up the verse on Blue Letter Bible. It means “lying”. Oh. Okay. Now I get it!
