I’m glad you quoted that verse, Kristi. There are other Gospel references where it’s not clear whether Jesus is speaking metaphorically about even adult believers (since all believers are children of God and all little in His eyes). But the context of this verse makes it clear that here at least Jesus was speaking of literal children. They have a special position with God. Their angels are not just online 24/7 with God, but in His presence constantly! Woe to the one who harms a little child!

Brothers and sisters, that is the exact attitude that hitler used to begin nazi Germany’s program of weeding out what he called “the mud races”. The genetically inferior races. This is nazi Germany reborn. Only they’re not just targeting specific races (as far as we know now) they’re looking for any “imperfect” babies. Of course at the moment they’re “only” targeting babies created by in vitro fertilization. I guess the excuse is that these babies were created to please their parents and parents have (evidently) a right to perfect babies. Therefore a right to “dispose of” any baby that this company tells them has “any sign of predisposition to unwanted physical or mental conditions.” This is the ultimate “right not to be offended” insanity.
The cmpany’s employees and the parents will also face this Scripture at the Judgment Seat:
“Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.” (Matthew 7:1-3)
Those who judge babies to (their own) standard of perfection will find that God applies the standard of HIS perfection to them in the Day of Judgment.
But there is forgiveness even for those who commit this terrible evil if they turn to God in genuine repentance and beg His forgiveness for Jesus’ sake. If and only if they do this in sincerity before they die.
