This is our part of sanctification. Way back in the dark ages of computers, when programming was so simple it was done with punched cards and wired boards, there was an acronym – “GIGO”. “Garbage in, garbage out.” Meaning, if your computer gives you junk analysis or math, first make sure your programming is correct. If you fouled up your programming, your computer is not at fault.
That’s still true, and it applies to our spiritual lives too. We need to be sure we’re putting a lot of the Word of God into our “computers”, that is, our brains. Ans what we take in from the world via entertainment, reading, and study should be “honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report”. For one who is born again, therefore has the indwelling Holy Spirit to guide and strengthen him or her, that pure input will go a long way toward helping us submit to the Holy Spirit transforming us into the image of Christ!
We are partners with God in the transformation. As we should be partners with our physicians in taking care of our physical health, as we should watch our diet for the same purpose. The only difference is that God never mis-diagnoses us!

In politics, one of the common insults especially used by rightwingers of leftwingers is calling them sheep or “sheeple” instead of people. But Christians are supposed to be sheep! The only thing wrong with being a sheep – is if you follow the wrong shepherd.
Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.” (John 10:11-13)
On the other hand, Jesus warned, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”
Choose your shepherd carefully. If you are following the Good Shepherd, trust Him and obey Him. You wil be glad fo all eternity that you did!
