Did you ever think that the prophets of the Old Testament might be proud to be in your company? That sounds like pride, doesn’t it? But that’s the essence of what King Jesus said in that Scripture.
It’s also worth noting that’s the exact opposite of the way business works in the Western World. Your employer wants you to please the customer. Never say anything to offend them. But Jesus also said, :If you deny Me before men, I will deny you before My Father in Heaven.”
It’s good to be polite, and Christian faith should not be used as sandpaper, to deliberately hurt or insult anyone. But standing for the faith on at least some occasions is our duty. And as Todd Nettleton said in the video Kristi posted above, we may face religious persecution here in America. Saddle up, soldiers of the cross. Get to know your God. Saturate your mind in His written Word. Unless King Jesus returns soon, we’re going to be the ones “on the sharp end”. And the only way we can have the victory is with the help of the Holy Spirit and God’s Word.
