    • “The greatest of these is love.” This is one place were the authorized version suffers badly from the changing measnoing of words. The word translated “charity” is thhe Greek word “agape”, That is the same word translated as “love” in 2 Corinthians 13:14:
      “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.”

      I feel certain that Kristi and most who visit here know this. I wanted to emphasize it because I want to emphasize a related point:

      Everything that God does is motivated by LOVE. Whenever you come across some Scripture that makes God sound mean or unloving, take a minute to ask yourself:
      “If God’s motive for this is love, how does that change the Scripture’s impact?”

      Prime example: If God is love, how can He send people to hell?

      Answer: those wo are sent to hell are those who refused to be born again so that, sins forgiven, they could be transformed completely into the image of Jesus Christ which makes them capable of never hurting, damaging, or destroying any of God’s other creations or beings.

      In other words, only those who insist on remaining harmful or deadly to others will be restrained forever in God’s prison so that God’s New Heavens and New Earth will be a place “where rigteousness dwells” , where peace like a river flows, and unmarred joy will exist for all Eternity.

      That’s not just words. For decades scientists weren’r sure whether light was a wave or a particle. Now they claim “It as properties of both.” Isn’t that a neat way of saying “We still don’t know?

      The darkness of human widom still comprehendethh it not, LOL!

      Many years ago, I had the privilege of spending six months on the edge of a Brazilian jungle with a missionary couple. They and the Indians they were working with had gas lanterns, but after dark those lanterns attracted bugs like you’ve never seen in the US! Besides, the Indians were self-sufficient. Meaning they grew their own food, fished for it or hunted it,, built their houses … they needed every hour of daylight for work. When night came they were glad to go to sleep Lights out! See you in the morning!

      If you stepped outside at nigh (no inside plumbing) you quickly developed a real appreciation of the importance of light. Especially knowing thhat tere were JAGUARS that could see in the dark muc better than we can.

      The same thing is true spiritually. John 1:4 says, “In him was life; and the life was the light of men.” All you have to do to realize the truth of thhat verse is to get acquainted with societies that have little or no Christian influence. The darkness is very deep for them. Where the light of our Savior does not shine, the darkness is ruled by our adversary the devil who “as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” ( 1 Peter 5:8 )

      Heavenly Father, THANK YOU for living us enough to ask King Jesus to take on the mission of living a sinless life and dying in our place for our sins so You could allow those who accept HIM into even when we leave this life!

      We have the light of the knowledge of the love of the FATHER AND HIS SON JESUS!!
