  1. Amen on all of the above. And while we’re remembering our fallen heroes, if anyone knows of any living vets who are having a rough time, try to find a way to give them a hand. The Wounded Warriors Fund is one way The Veterans of Foreign Wars can offer suggestions. A quick google search will turn up such links as this:

    Local groups probably exist in many places too. And a vet doesn’t have to be homeless to appreciate your thanks for their service and maybe a helping hand in some small personal way. And those who are Chriostians, don’t forget to pray for our living veterans. God can reach people we don’t even know about.

  5. UPDATE TODAY WHILE I WAS AT COSTCO AT 3:50 P.M. I HAD A CAR ACCIDENT, I DID NOT SEE THE MAN IN HIS SUV AND I WAS DRIVING SLOW, NO DAMAGE TOO HIS SUV, BUT MY CAR FRONT FRENDER IS SMASTIED IN TOO MY FRONT LEFT TIRE!!

    • Kristi, I am so sorry! This is awful. I hate this happened just when you are about to go vidsit your mother. Are you alright physically?

      Heavenly Father, we thank You fervently that Kristi is well enough to post this report!

      Heavenly Father, we know better than to be angry with You over this, but it hurts to hear this! Please grant that Kristi not have any more pain from this, or have any lasting effects from it. If it’s possible in Your will, Hevenly Father, please arrange fast and thoroughly safe repair to Kristi’s car. And please, Heaven;y Father give Ktristi calmness and peace. Please prevent her from being made afraid to drive as people sometimes are by accidents. And again we ask, please give her a safe, uneventful, easy drive to visit her mother, and the same on her return journey. All these things we ask in the holy name of Jesus. Amen.

    • IThat sort of thing even happens to people with two eyes every now and then. If yo’re still not hhurting tomorrow when you wake up, just write it off as experience. Not satisfactory, but we’re asll capable of making mistkes. I wonder, though … should you be driving to California? No need to reply. You have to make that decision. I understasnd theneed to be able to do things for yourself. Just as long as it doesn’t kill you … or someone else.

    • These things happen even to people with two eyes every now and then, Kristi. But are you sure you should be driving to California? Your decision. No need to reply. But you might give it some thought. Buses or trains are less convenient but you wouldn’t have to drive.

    • Kristi, my Mother told me near the end of her life that one day she was sitting in the living room, in her favorite recliner, just suffering in spirit. She didn’t tell me what about. She said that suddenly she became aware of a light to one side. When she turned her head to look at it, she saw her mother, who had passed away after many years of trouble. Her mother was standing in a beautiful garden, and she told my Mother, “It’s wonderful here! So wonderful! But not yet. Not yet.”

      The vision faded. But it was the answer Mother needed. It strengthened her, and she was able to go on in faith to the end of her own life several years later.

      King Jesus feels your pain and frustration. I mean He actually feels it Himself. He will help you endure until the end. Remember when King Jesus met Saul on the Damascus Road? He asked Saul, “Saul. Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”

      “ME.” Not “My disciples.” But of course Jesus had already been crucified and resurrected, and had ascended back into Heaven. King Jesus asked Saul why Saul was persecuting HIM, Jeus, because HE felt every blow and insult. He was there as the Pharisees tore lives and families apart. And Jesus is with you now. He feels every pain of yours. He knows how frustrating your life is.

      Hold on, Kristi. God has an appointed time for you, and He will not make you remain a second longer than planned. And then…

      “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.” (Revelation 21:3-5)

      Heavenly Father, please comfort our dear sister! Give her strength and courage for the fight she is in, but Father, be with her in a special way and help her mightily to be able to bear the pain and discomfort and frustration and loneliness. And as much as is possible in Your will, ease her pain and discomfort. Kristi has valiantly and faithfully fought a long harsh battle while holding high and honoring Your name and the name of Jesus. I ask these things in the holy name of King Jesus, Your only begotten Son and our Lord and Savior. Amen.

    • “My defense.” YES!

      Jesus said He would send “the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost” and that was why it was good for the disciples (and all believers since then) that He, Jesus, should go away. The word translated “Comforter” is “parakletos”, which also had the meaning of “attorney” in that time. The apostle John wrote that if any man sin, “we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous”.

      The word translated “advocate” is also “parakletos”.

      Therefore, it is perfectly legitimate and Biblical to say that in God’s court, we have an attorney Who is licensed to pactice in God’s court. So in a very literal since, King Jesus is our defense – our defense attorney.

      In other senses too, as in Marty Goetz’s song, King Jesus ios our defense. I just like the thhought of King Jesus, the most competent and caring attorney in the Universe, being our attorney before God. Especially since the devil is described as the accuser of the brethren. (Revelation 12:10) And we have another Advocate, the Holy Spirit, with us at all times. Think about that! You are NEVER without spiritual legal counsel!

      Most people have to make an appointment to see their attorneys, and they have to pay huge amounts of money. But we who are born-again beleivers in Jesus have an attorney present with us at all times, and another attorney present in God’s court in case the accuser of the brethren should try to sneak a complaint past us!

      It should be obvious that the Holy Spirit performs other matters on our behalf. One of those things is helping us purify ourselves. One of those things is helping us overcome temptation. I don’t mean to minimize the role or importance of either Jesus’ sacrifice of Himself on our behalf, or the presence and powerful multi-layered role of the Holy Spirit in our lives I just love the thought that the evil ones (demons) have no chance in God’s court when dealing with born-again believers in King jesus!
