“In every thing Give Thanks …” Yes we definitely should do that, in EVERYTHING. Thank you, Krisit, for the reminder. Do you realize, Kristi, that one of the most valuable things you do for your brothers and sisters in Christ is to remind us from Scripture of things we should be doing and thinking? 🙂 🙂
“In every thing Give Thanks …” That can be hard to do. It takes practice. But it’s one of the most useful things we can do in prayer. It’s especially helpful when things are going wrong. When you make a practice of thanking God even when things are going wrong, and you reach the point that you can do it without clenched teeth and bulging veins, you’ll discover the most amazing joy when God shows you why He was doing or allowing that aggravation.
God showing us why doesn’t usually happen. But when He does, if you have been sincere in thanking Him beforehand, you’ll get a spiritual boost from it! At least that’s the way it has been with me. Eventually you reach the point where you’ll be smiling or laughing when you thank God for something going wrong. Because in that moment, when you genuinely thank God for a difficulty you don’t think you deserve. you have scored an impressive victory over the enemy of our souls.

Abba, tonight I bring to Your throne a prayer for our sister and Your daughter, Krisit Ann. I know, Lord, that You already know everything I’m going to say here, but as her brother in Christ and also as one of Your children, Your Word tells us that we have the privilege and the responsibility to lift up our brothers and sisters in Christ to Your throne. I do this willingly, not from duty.

Heavenly Father, Kristi Ann follows King Jesus better than many who have no disabilites. She serves You and King Jesus without complaint and with joy. She honors You with enthusiasm and great skill! She is one of the most consisitent, persistent voices I have ever known in reminding people of Your love for us and Your salvation through faith in Jesus.
I know You see these things, and I am certain You will have many shining, dazzling crowns waiting for her when You call her home. Thank You, Abba!
But I ask, if it’s possible in Your will, that You ease her burden on this earth. The hearts of all of Kristi’s friends and followers yearn for You to give Kristi a massive miraculous helaing right now. We know that absolutely nothing is beyond Your power. All that matters is whether or not a request is within Your will. We will shout it from the rooftops if You do give Kristi such an incredible joy! Or anything approaching that level of relief.
But we haven’t seen many of that kind of miracle since the apostles’ lives on this earth ended. We have no doubt that Your power is no less than it was when You spoke the worlds into being. But if that is not possible in this life for Kristi, we ask that at least some significant measure of relief be given her. Not becausae we lack faith in You, but because we bow to Your will, even when it hurts.
Heavenly Father, You are our God and no other. No matter what response You give to this prayer, we will still love You. But we do earnestly beg You to make Kristi’s life less drawn-out torture and more an easy burden. We care for this sister, Abba. We can’t help but wish in sincerity that You will do something for her pain and discomfort. Your will be done, Abba. We will not ask that You act outside Your will. Kristi would not like it if we did. We make this request for Kristi earnestly, fervently, but we add as our King did, “Not our will, but Yours, be done.”
