Kristi, that song, “Teach Me To Wait” is so good! Thank you for posting that. I sent it to a friend whose situation has been verey unpleasant for a while. Neither she nor I can do anything about it. She’s been waiting on the Lord for months now, but her faith and her attitude are still good. But it helps to hear these things from others.
Those who are young and have no disability may not have any idea what it is to be “weak and faint”. At 72 years old, believe me, I do. This promise may mean (for most of us at least) that our strength will be renewed when we stand in God’s Kingdom in our resurrection, glorified bodies that will never get old again, never wear out, never feel pain. That’s good enough for me! Thank You, Abba!
I remember working with an uncle who was building a “sweat equity” home for his family. I must have been in my mid-thirties then and was just realizing that I didn’t have as much vitality as when I was 20. I said so to my uncle, who was in his 50s at the time, and he replied, “I know what you mean! When you’re young, you think, ‘This body will never fail me!’ ”
I laugh at that now, thinking of how much my body has lost since then When I see my uncle in Heaven, we’re going to sit down together and tell stories of our earthly lives and laugh ourselves off our chairs over how ridiculous some parts of our lives were! Depending on ourselves, what a joke!
But the bodies we will have then will fulfill all the dreams and hopes we had for this life! Endure in faith, brothers and sisters! On that glorious day we will be leaping and dancing for joy, and shouting our thanks to the King Who died to rescue us from our sins and our Heavenly Father Who loved us so much that He sent His only Son on that terribly painul rescue mission!
