( II Samuel 22:47 KJV ) “The LORD liveth; and Blessed be my ROCK; and Exalted be the GOD of the ROCK of my Salvation.”!!

( I Corinthians 10:4 KJV ) “And did all drink the same Spiritual drink: for they drank of that Spiritual ROCK that followed them: and that ROCK was CHRIST.”!!

Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Cleanse me from its guilt and power.

Not the labour of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All for sin could not atone;
Thou must save, and Thou alone.

Nothing in my hand I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress;
Helpless, look to Thee for…

  1. Amen, Kristi. Me too. “Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee.” That has a double meaning for Christians. The first meaning is the most important one, which this hymn records next:
    “Let the water and the blood,
    From Thy riven side which flowed,
    Be of sin the double cure,
    Cleanse me from its guilt and power.”

    Amen. We need bot grace and mercy, both of which come from the cross of Jesus Christ. We know His sacrifice was acceptable to God the Father, because God the Father resurrected King Jesus from the dead three days after His crucifixion.

    Grace is getting what we do not deserve – an eternity of joy and eternal life in God’s Kingdom, where “nothing that defiles will enter.”

    Mercy is NOT getting what we deserve. Having our record of sins expunged. Erased. Blotted out. Separated us from our sins “as far as the East is from the West.

    There is another meaning, which becomes more obvious as we watch this world crumble around us into destruction, death, and misery. We may suffer in this life, but the worst of it won’t happen until after the Rapture. As Christians in the Middle East and China can tell us, this life can get horribly ugly even now, but what is coming is far worse. But we who are genuine believers in Jesus will be “beamed up” in the Rapture before that is allowed:

    “Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until the fury has passed by.” (Isaiah 26:20)

    I’ll see you on the way up, brothers and sisters!

    I would be deeply grateful if those who read this would pass it on.

    Heavenly Father, Abba, this world has become so filled with pain, with suffering, with injustice, and heartbreak that it hurts even our hard hearts to see it. I can’t even begin to imagine how badly it must hurt Your heart to see it all, know it all, know what else is going to happen, and not act because You have given us free will. You Who created this world, Who love it and every soul in it.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    This is a testimony on God’s behalf that God does not want anyone hurt, physically, emotionally, or mentally, let alone killed or sentenced to hell.
    “For God so loved the world that he gave His only Son, that Whoever believes on Him would not perish, but have everlasting life. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:16-18)
    God is speaking here to "the House of Israel" through His prophet Ezekiel, but He is speaking to the whole world too:
    "Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord God, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?" (Ezekiel 33:10)
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    King Jesus came to this earth and was crucified for the worst of us:
    "While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

    On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” (Matthew 9:10-13)

    This is the apostle Paul’s personal testimony to the incredible love of God that forgives our sins:
    “Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (1st Timothy 1:13-17)

    We do not have to earn God's love and the forgiveness of our sins:
    "At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life." (Titus 3:3-7)

    Is Jesus your High Priest? Would you like Him to be your High Priest?

    Jesus knows all about your heartaches, your sins, your failures, your loneliness, your hurts. He will help you, He will heal your soul, and God will forgive all your sins for Jesus’ sake if you will receive Jesus as your High Priest, your Savior. He is only waiting for you to decide.

    “He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” (John 1:10-13)
