    There’s an old saying that crime doesn’t pay. That’s true, because there is always some kind of built-in penalty attached to it. Watch any good detective show, read a criminal’s rap sheet, and you’ll see that criminals always get themselves in deeper. Whether it’s theft, fraud, or embezzlement, there are always built-in penalties for crime. God built a certain way of functioning into the Universe, and crime is not part of it.

    On the other hand, if we are willing to honor God and live a righteous life in His eyes, doing whatever He created us to do and living in peace and righteousness with our neighbors, IF then God chooses to give us any kind of blessing, no harm will come from it. We can freely enjoy it and relax!

    “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” (Micah 6:8)

    Don’t live for blessings. Live to honor God and gain His approval. You may not be blessed with lots of money, but the blessings of peace with God and His approval will be yours, and those are more important:
    “Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.” (Proverbs 16:8)
    “Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.” (1st Timothy 6:5-7)
