I’m having a peaceful Sabbath, at least. The pace I work is closed, but they still want security there. So here I sit, getting paid to check things every couple of hours and enjoying myself online a little too. God has been very good to me in getting me this position. It’s easy enough for an old man ot handle, but it’s a necessary job.
We’re close (I think, hope, and believe) to the Lord’s return. The parable of the 5 wise and 5 foolish virgins in Matthew 25 comes to mind. We should be very careful of our thoughts, words, and deeds now.
Christy Nockels has a song that makes me smile. Some words in it sound like a child’s game, which is fine. Christians are God’s children. The song title is “This is the Hour”. Some of the words, which she sings beautifully, are
“This is the hour
Time to ask the heart, “Who do you love?”
And time to hold allegiance for the One
To bow our lives and kiss the Son …
.This is the age
To welcome all the prodigals home…
Everybody make a run for the Father
Calling all you sons and you daughters…”
That line “Everybody make a run for the Father” makes me laugh! Not a mocking laugh, but a joyous laugh. It sounds so childlike. Those who had good fathers will understand.
Heavenly Father, thank You for being willing to forgive us and welcome us home, to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Lord Jesus, High King of Heaven, thank You for saving us by Your sacrifice on the cross in our place.
