Today, Christians from across the nation — indeed, across the world — will gather to pray for Pastor Saeed Abedini and for the persecuted Church.
Pastor Saeed, in chains for the Gospel, is imprisoned in Iran, guilty of nothing but being a follower of Jesus Christ. Through his case, through almost 625,000 petition signatures and more than 111,000 letters to the President of Iran, the world is beginning to wake up to the plight of Christians around the globe.
Today’s prayer vigils will be attended by Americans of all walks of life, by a high-level representative from the U.S. State Department, and likely by Members of Congress. In fact, it will be one of the few events in these divisive times that will draw Americans together — to unite, in prayer, for one of our own.
If you can’t attend a vigil. Please, take a moment to pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ who are living New Testament Christianity: persecuted, imprisoned, and tortured across the globe.
Pastor Saeed has faced a brutal reality only the tiniest few will ever face, and he has responded with love and courage. The least we can do is pray for his comfort and release!
