Earlier this evening, I was searching for a certain Scripture about the end of this life, and I read these verses:
“And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia! Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God, for true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
And again they said, Alleluia! And her smoke rose up for ever and ever!
And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen! Alleluia!
And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great!
And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia! for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth!
I put the exclamation points in. But brothers and sisters in Christ, can you imagine standing in the presence of God, rescued forever – FOREVER! – from all our fears, pains, disabilites, and problems – can you imagine being there in the presence of the one Who sent His Son to die in agony to make our rescue possible, and the One Who left His Throne in Heaven and tolerated slander, ridicule, and a death by torture, and lived a life of total denial for us – FOR US! helpless sinners! – I say, can you imagine standing there and not SHOUTING Hallelujah?
Who could be content on that day with a soft voice? Who will not be YELLING our praises and thanks to the God Who rescued us?
HALLELUJAH! HOSANNA! THANK YOU ABBA! THANK YOU, LORD JESUS!

One of the reasons we can serve the Lord with gladness is His absolute honor and righteousness. He was tried, sort of, by the Sanhedrin, and convicted, sort of, by them. But Pilate and Herod, Roman authorities with no reason to protect Jesus, both declared Him innocent of any crime. A dying thief admitted his own guilt, but declared that Jesus had done nothing wrong.
In John 8:46, Jesus challenged the hostile Pharisees, the most nit-picking bunch of religious rule-book-worshippers the world has ever seen, to prove Him guilty of even one sin. They resorted to slander because they couldn’t.
Jesus’ trial was a mass of illegalities. I learned even more about how corrupt that trial was tonight when I read this page of this site:
