To those who have the responsibility of being a father, I hope your day is happy. You have a tough job, especially in this hostile world. But as Kristi posted above, if you are a Christian father who is trying to equip your children with the faith in Jesus and other things they need for this life,
GOD IS WITH YOU!
I have no children, but I remember times when I was a child, and later a teenager, when I tried my father’s patience badly. He certainly earned a reward in heaven for his patience. I’m very glad that along with his patience, there were limits. “Anything goes” was not his philosophy. His house, his rules. My brothers and I were blessed by our father’s strong Christian faith. He did an excellent job of living out his faith in his role as father. Without dominating Mother, he was the leader that a Christian father is called on to be in the home.
In his last years, he seemed to think he had failed his sons, but I don’t think he did. He and our mother gave us the immense advantage of seeing a strong Christian marriage, the immense advantage of knowing we were loved and that they loved each other, and knowing that there are rules in life which come from God. When we were little, on into our teen years, we were taken to good churches where God’s Word was taught. On one occasion, God made a connection through my parents between one of those churches and another church 3,000 miles away to catch me as I was on the edge of slipping out of fellowship with God completely.
