  3. Your words above, Kristi, are the true spirit of a Christian’s heart:

    “HALLELUJAH! Praise the Lord!”

“1) ( A Psalm of praise. ) “Make a JOYFUL noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.”

“2) Serve the LORD with GLADNESS! Come before HIS Presence with SINGING!”

Why? “5) For the LORD is good; HIS Mercy is Everlasting; and HIS Truth endureth to all Generations.”

These are NOT just words we learn in Sunday School and try to “psych ourselves up” with. Those who have become believers in King Jesus and God the Father have so many reasons to be thankful to God!

He sent His only Son to live a human life, suffer slander and insult, and at the end take the penalty for sin that we would have had to take if not for Him, King Jesus! But that’s just the biggest part of the JOY of being a Christian. We have the guidance of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives. I and others notice this on many “small” occasions in our daily lives. We know that we do not live depending on “luck”, but on God’s protection and provision and instruction.

We know that God is with us every second. We can talk to Him about anything – problems, questions, doubts, fears … and even just to be talking to Him! The incredible privilege of being allowed, no, INVITED, (Hebrews 4:14-16) to talk to the Creator of the Universe at any time about anything. He’s never too busy, He’s never asleep, He always cares about US! Sometimes when I’m praying i can’t help SMILING or even laughing out loud for the sheer joy of having that privilege in addtion to the forgiveness of my sins. We have been given the right to pray for others who aren’t Christians! We can intercede with God on their behalf! HURRAH!

There are so many other “ordinary” things that come from being spiritually united with God through the Holy Spirit through the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross! I write, and one of the things I enjoy most is that when I’m writing about matters of faith, I first ask God to give me His words for people on that occasion. I am NOT writing inspired Scripture. But He does guide those who ask Him to. I can start an article with one idea, maybe even finish the article, and suddenly I’ll “see” or “hear” that’s not what should be said. And another idea entirely comes to mind. Or I don’t understand a part of Scripture, but when I ask in humility, He frequently shows me the answer. This kind of leading is the “second-birht”right of every genuine believer in Jesus!

    SO and THEREFORE…

“4) Enter into HIS Gates with Thanksgiving, and into HIS courts with Praise: be thankful unto HIM, and Bless HIS Name!”

    Amen! Thank You, Heavenly Father!
