THE DOUBLE CURE
An old hymn says,
“may the water and the blood from Thy wounded side which flowed
be of sin the double cure,
save from wrath and make me pure.”
We need both. Sin is serious. It seems that some sins are small, but the sin nature that causes even small sins, if untreated, would in the width of the Universe and the length of Eternity grow into all the evils we see on this earth. But God’s love for us is so powerful that He sent His Son to not only take the punishment for sin, but make it possible for God to be both just and our Justifier.
The resurrection of King Jesus from the dead is the sign that one day all God’s promises will be fulfilled! We will not only be forgiven, but “sanctified”! Made pure! Made “without harm” in our new nature. The full realization of “being born again”!
Did you ever want to start life over? Those who are born-again believers in King Jesus WILL! A new life, a new truly good nature, and a life in a new world !
“We, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells!” (2nd Peter 3:13)
“On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:37)
God loves YOU. Every individual human being. He still calls today, but the time before the Great Tribulation is very short. Those who have not received Jesus as Lord and Savior need to hurry to make that decision. It’s theirs to make. God will not force Himself on anyone. He offers an invitation to the New heavens and the New Earth! It’s open to every human being, no matter what their past or present may be.
He is risen indeed! HALLELUJAH! I know this is three days too soon, but I can’t help it:
Good afternoon, Kristi and Friends. Greetings to all who long for the appearing of our Gpod and Savior Jesus!
For 2,000 years, this day in Heaven has been a solemn occasion, but solemn rejoicing, and preparation for the rejoicing of the Resurrection of our God and Savior Jesus the Messiah. AND anticipation of THIS day:
“The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:
‘The kingdom of the world have become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah, and He will reign for ever and ever.’ ” (Revelation 11:15)
There was no other way. “Abba, Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me.” Three times He prayed that desperate prayer, and God the Father was silent. But every time, King Jesus ended His prayer with, “Not My will, but Yours, be done.”
There was no other way. Our salvation, the forgiveness of our sins, hung in the balance. The devil and his demons tried everything they could think of to turn King Jesus away from the cross. satan himself offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world if He would only – “only”! ha! – worship satan. But King Jesus replied, “Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” (Luke 4:8)
Holiness in person stood before the devil that day and defeated him as always.
When the time came, Jesus took control of events. He exposed the intention of Judas, and although the pther disciples didn’t seem to understand, Judas did. Judas knew he had to act immediately or he’d be unable to lead the Pharisees’ mob to Jesus. The Pharisees didn’t want to crucify Jesus on the Passover, of all days. The vast number of devout Jews who would be gathered for the feast of feast of Judaism were a threat to the Pharisees, because they believed Jesus to be at least a prophet. And they had been awed by Jesus’ miracles and knowledge of Scripture and His honor. They had even tried to force Him to be King of Israel at one point.
The Sanhedrin – those who were summoned to this highly illegal and unpopular trial – had to conduct a capital trial illegally (at night) and their unprepared lying witnesses couldn’t even produce a consistent frame-up.
At last, in desperation, the high priest used an illegal trick to produce a conviction: he placed Jesus under the most solemn, powerful oath and required Him to tell the Sanhedrin if He was the Son of God. It was illegal then as in this nation to require a defendant to testify against himself. But they had nothing else! In their desperation to frame Jesus as guilty, they proved His innocence by having to resort to illegal tactics.
Injustice andevil were turned into the most stern justice and at the same time the greatest mercy ever offered to the world.
“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing!” AMEN AMEN! AMEN!
