Amen. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” (James 1:17) America has been blessed by God in many ways for over two hundred years. Those who accept His most amazing gift, forgiveness of sins and eternal life through faith in His only Son Jesus, will after this life go to live with Hi in such unmarred eternal joy that this world will soon fade away like a bad dream.
HOSANNA IN THE HIGHEST! Thank You, Abba, for the thousands of gifts You give us every day, and especially for the gift of Your Son Whose death takes away the sins of those who trust Him. Amen!

Kristi and friends, MERRY CHRISTMAS! I hope, Kristi, that when you return you approve this comment. There are so many dramatic stories in the Bible that can be improved by including human emotions in the retelling. I’m not a preacher. I’m a teller of true stories. here’s the story of the First Christmas with human emotions added. I may be exaggerating a little, but i don’t think so. If you disagree, Kristi, I will not be hurt or upset if you just delete this comment. Brackets around my improvisations:

“There were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night” [minding their own business, ordinary men doing their ordinary jobs, and with no warning SUDDENLY! BAM! AN ANGEL OF THE LORD! And SUDDENLY! BAM! THE EXCEEDINGLY GREAT GLORY OF THE LORD shining all around them!]
[Their adrenalin glands blasted into max production! Their minds instantly began searching for answers! (What did I do it wasn’t me I swear I’ll never do it again ….) Their bodies screamed at them “WE MUST LEAVE NOW DANGER DANGER DANGER!” Their brains screamed back “DON’T MOVE MAYBE HE WON’T SEE US!”]
“But the angel said to them, ‘Don’t be afraid! I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people! Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.’ ”
[And then SUDDENLY! BAM! there was A BATTALION NO, A REGIMENT, NO WAIT A WHOLE BRIGADE OR MAYBE A DIVISION OF HEAVENLY WARRIORS! YELLING AT THEM: ]’Glory to God in the highest heaven! And on earth peace, in men goodwill, delight.”
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds [collapsed in shock, mumbling incoherently, moving feebly and spasmodically for about ten minutes before they] said to one another, [“I’m too old for this kind of shock! But it is a miraculous event, the important one we’ve heard about since Abraham, so] “let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
And they went, and spread the word as they went [because they suddenly felt more than ever in their lives, “We Jews are truly God’s Chosen People and He has sent the Messiah He promised us!”] [Friends, you and I have never had a Christmas as filled to overflowing with joy as that of those shepherds on the first Christmas. But we will, when King Jesus returns for us!] And everyone who heard the shepherd’s news was amazed, but Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.”
