The indications in the news are that things are getting worse and worse, with an occasional answered prayer. Some of those prayers were for an evacuation of Afghan allies of American solider, and for the soldiers, to be evacuated. If you haven’t heard of it, a group of former Special Forces soldiers pulled off a rescue of several thousand Afghan allies. These are people verified by American soldiers in the afghan theater to have worked with American soldiers at the risk of their lives. These Afghans and their families.
But the Great Tribulation is closer by the minute. I won’t go into recent news. It’s far too bleak, on the whole. B ut for believers in Jesus it’s another story –
“When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” (Luke 21:28)
” For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.” (1st Thessalonians 4:15-18)
Our Lord’s return is very close! Praise God!

Good evening, Kristi Ann. I hope your day has been rewarding and as enjoyable as possible. God bless you and guard you, and may He send you an occasional unicorn or some pixie dust to remind you that He loves you wholeheartedly and will be overjoyed to welcome you home, whether in the Rapture or another way.
An acquaintance recently passed into His Kingdom from covid, and thinking about it, I wrote her friends that the passing of those close to us, even those we are confident are believers in Jesus, leaves a hole in our lives. But there is a hole in Heaven that is caused by each of us not being there, and it will only be filled when the Holy One of Israel calls us home. Heaven “misses” us.
” For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.” (Romans 8:15-23)

I wonder what the role of genuine Christians should be in this time of corruption and disasters. I’m open to suggestions, but I think our proper role depends on where on God’s timeline we are. I think we’re “at the door” of the Great Tribulation. I don’t know whether the Rapture will occur mid-Tribulation or pre-Tribulation, but I am sure it is one of those.
If those assumptions are correct, I think we should be communicating a message of the imminent Tribulation, be ready to explain the what and why of it, and be ready to explain the what and how of the only way out. I suspect most of those who comment here can do those things, but I think we should work on something like a tract, a brief simple message form to be handed out or sent out online. Kristi Ann, I’m not knocking your site one bit. I have no doubt that this site is a beacon of hope for many more people than you will know until we gather in Heaven.
But those of us who are able to get out need a short, clear hand-out of some sort for encounters with strangers and casual acquaintances. Regardless of that, we need to be ready to speak briefly and courteously with those we meet. I wish I knew of a small group Christian Bible study or prayer group in my area. We could practice on each other. And there are other advantages of the Biblically-mandated gathering together with others of similar beliefs.
Our remaining time on earth is short.
