  1. ““In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” (1st John 4:9-10)

Not only did God send His only begotten Son nto this world to save us, He did so knowing that His Son, Who lived a life completely free of sin, Who only did good to people all His life, would be slandered, mocked, ridiculed, lied about, misrepresented, demonized, and rejected by the very people who had the authority and the responsibility to identify Him to the world as the Savior –

    • God the Father also knew that at the last, His Son would face a death by torture. And that would come only AFTER being put through secret rigged trials riddled with illegalities, with charges switched illegally to suit the venue He was tried in, and being savagely beaten during those trials.
    • God the Father knew that, facing this gauntlet of pain and suffering, His Son would ask Him three times for another way to rescue us. But each time, King Jesus ended His request with, “Not My will, but Thine, be done.”
    • God was silent, and King Jesus, Co-Creator of the world, was crucified,

That would be a terrible story if not for the ending: three days later, God the Father resurrected jesus from the dead! There were more than 500 witnesses who knew Him well and could not be fooled, “To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.” (Acts 1:3)

These men began to spread the word of Jesus’ resurrection and the Good News that those who believed in Him would be forgiven for their sins and given a new eternal life of unmarred joy in God’;s Kingdom when they leave this world!

“Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” (Acts 2:38-39)

“afar off”: that promise is for ALL who read or hear these words. Every one, even now, two thousand years later! Yes, YOU!
