As I understand it, the “deep invasion” of Gaza by Israel is going on now. Israeli soldiers, the hostages (if any remain alive) and Israeli citizens need our prayers, and will for some time to come. Those interested in details can find them on the internet, but I think that without offense to Kristi’s non-political rule, I can observe here that the situation is horrible and highly lethal for all involved. It’s terrible in every way, and the consequences of the hamas invasion are already spreading far beyond Gaza. Brothers and sisters, join me in prayer for all involved, please.
Heavenly Father, Holy One of Israel, we lift up to Your throne first, Your Chosen People, especially those Jewish warriors who are fighting tonight in Gaza and in Israel. We ask humbly, but fervently, that as far as is possible in Your will, You protect them from all harm and give them victory. We dare go further, Abba, and ask that they not be brutalized emotionally by what they are enduring even as we speak. Help them, Abba, to find the right targets and as much as is possible in Your will, not target innocent people by mistake. Give them courage beyond the human, Abba, and endurance. Confuse and confound their enemies, Lord.
We pray also, Heavenly Father, for Israeli citizens who are very vulnerable to any terrorists still in Israel, with many of Israel’s warriors engaged elsewhere. Abba, give the enemy no chance for another slaughter of Israelis behind the lines.
We have heard that there may be American special forces operators involved also, Abba. If so, we ask for Your protection for them also, and the same success in seeking and rescuing hostages.
And finally, Abba, we ask that as much as is possible in Your will, this horror may cause thousands of Israelis and others caught in this hell-storm to turn swiftly to Your Son for salvation! Please, Heavenly Father, may this not be just a body count and a territorial battle! Please send the Holy Spirit to turn the hearts of this people Israel to their God!
We ask all these things in the holy name of Jesus our Savior. Amen.

It is time that elected officials in every country step up and end war in any form,shape or fashion and establish peace; because of death, sadness and destruction of mankind in a supposely civilized world!

I’m reading now in Matthew 19.:13-15. Remember Jesus saying, ” In this chapter, people began bringing their children to Jesus, “that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.”
“Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, ‘Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.’ And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.”
It’s very strange that the disciples would rebuke people for bringing their children to Jesus, since in chapter 18, just before this, they had this conversation with Jesus:
“At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, ‘Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?’ And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, and said, ‘Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.’ ”
What on earth were the disciples thinking, then, when they rebuked people for bringing their children to Jesus? My word, they acted human!
After all, we all seem to have this tendency to forget what God tells us. From the ancient Israelites right down to us, that’s something we need to guard against. There was once a saying among stalwart Christians: “God said it, I believe it, that settles it!”
That attitude will keep us from grief and wasted time.

peterjoe, that’s a great ikdea. But I wouldn’t hold my breath. Unfortunately, the leaders have at least an indirect interest in war. And there are always people like hamas and other terrorists, who are so far gone into hatred and other sins that they barely resemble humans any more. Then there’s the influence of demons on the people who are not Christians.
The angel who ansswered Daniel’s “information request” told him, “…unto the end of the war desolations are determined.” (Daniel 9:26) This entire existence is a war, with the devil and the demons being the ultimate driving forces behind it, and un-regenerated humans their tools. THE war can’t be stopped by humans. As of now, it appears that all the meaningful power postions are in the hands of those thoroughly in the grip of the non-human evil ones. The only way war will end will be when King Jesus returns. And even then, at the end of His Millennial Kingdom, when the devil is turned loose one last time, everyt nation on earth will instantly begin a war against King Jesus. That will be their last mistake, and the true end of war in the Universe.
Until then, the best we can do is be faithful witnesses to the deasth of Jesus in our place and God raising Hoim from the dead three days later.
