God chose Israel as His own people. He set them apart from other nations: “You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own.”
(Leviticus 20:26; see also Deuteronomy 14:21 and 26:19, Ezra 9:2, Isaiah 62:12, Daniel 8:24 and 9:27, and 1st Peter 2:9, in which Peter is writing to the Jews of the Diaspora)
All of Romans chapter 11, and many more Scripture passages, make it certain that God has not abandoned Israel. He is working in the hearts of Jews everywhere, and through the same old anti-Semitism is gathering His Chosen People back to their eternal homeland! PRAISE GOD, because after severe, exgtreme hardship, the people of Israel will come to faith in Jesus the Messiah! That is terribly iportant for the entire world, because only the Jews have the authority and the responsibility of identifying the Messiah to the world and begging the Holy One of Israel to send Him back!
And when Messiah returns, He will rule the world in perfect justice, and then …
“They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” (Isaiah 11:9)
